Nissan seems to have revealed the car of the future, the 2015 Murano SUV. But it's not a sedan, and we like a good Nissan sedan, especially if it looks like this! Yes, it's the Nissan Sports Sedan Concept again, a concept we've seen in Detroit earlier this year.
It hasn't changed much since then, but seeing it next to the Murano suddenly renewed our confidence that the Sentra, Altima or Maxima could one day look really hot. Or maybe, who knows, it's going to become a premium four-door coupe.

The true role of this concept is believed to be as a preview for the 2015 Maxima sedan, all-new and coming to Los Angeles… we thing.

The design department is where the Sedan Concept really shines. Black, flush fitting roof pillars almost disappear, making the roof look like it's floating. This sedan sits closer to the ground than anything Nissan sells. It's like a 370Z of the future with room for five people.

If we were allowed to look under the bonnet, we would be able to show you a contradiction. This so-called "sport" sedan has a V6 with 300 horsepower mated to a CVT gearbox. Come on Nissan, Ford has a 2.7-liter EcoBoost turbo for the F-150. The Maxima is supposed to be your crowning moment!

Nissan executive VP Andy Palmer says it "shows a new, highly emotional and energetic design direction that takes Nissan's legendary approach of applying sports car principles to a sedan to the next level." Not with a CVT it doesn't!
