Nissan Skyline GT-R Power Makes This Ford Transit a Drift Van

We bet many of you have gone daydreaming about what would happen if a rear-wheel-drive Ford Transit received the kind of power required for a bit of sideways play. Thanks to a group of Lithuanian gear heads, this dream has become a reality, with a Transit receiving an R33 Nissan Skyline GT-R heart.

That's right, the Transit in the video below is motivated by the infamous RB26DETT mill. To talk numbers, we'll tell you that this blue collar machine went from 130 hp to 320 hp and while these figures are estimates, the power premium makes for a ton of fun.

With the aim of the contraption being to offer a melange between workhorse and drift machine, the Transit was also fitted with a hydraulic handbrake, allowing the driver to initiate a slide whenever he wishes.

A ceramic clutch completes the tech scenery, meaning the person behind the wheel doesn't have to worry about the driveline not being able to take the abuse. So, if handbrake-induced drifts won't cut it on certain occasions, a clutch kick is always a good solution.

The turbocharged straight-six was gifted with a straight pipe exhaust with a side setup, which means that, whenever this Ford spits flames, everybody notices it. Come to think of it, this machine only comes to add another page to what can be considered the history book of fast Transits. You know, the one that includes statistics mentioning this is one of the favorite vehicles for bank robbers.

You can see the... hybrid in tire-slaying action by hitting the "play" button below. However, judging by the way the inner rear tire is turned into smoke, we're not quite sure whether this Transit comes with the right kind of diff or is still waiting for an upgrade. Given the sweet tech setup featured by the van, we won't worry too much about that, though.
