Nissan has really hit it big with cars like the Juke, the Quashqai and even the GT-R - the Japanese manufacturer has lots of very different cars, which are very appreciated in their own right. They also have the financial power to develop lots of market-specific models, and now they have unveiled the concept for a sporty 2+2 crossover-type vehicle, which borrows lots of styling cues from the huge range of cars they have at their disposal, to create something truly unique.
The crossover is beginning to shine as a great compromise between efficiency, off-road ability, compact dimensions and driving fun. A properly set-up crossover can offer great performances in all of the aforementioned categories, at the same time. The previously-teased ‘Extrem’ concept, shown today at the Sao Paulo Auto Show, in Brazil, is a very futuristic melange of GT-R, 370Z, Quashqai, and even a little bit of Juke - we really like the way it looks.

It has a 2.5-meter wheelbase, and measures just 3.8 meters in total, as it rides on the same platform that underpins the Nissan Micra. Being so small, it could be powered by a small and efficient turbocharged petrol engine, as is the norm nowadays. Sadly, the manufacturer has stated that this is just a show car, and it will not go into production, in any form. However, as is most often the case with such vehicles, it (or some part of it) definitely previews something else, we just don’t know what.
