Take one 1.6-liter turbo engine that’s good enough for a Clio RS, one body kit that’s good enough for the 370Z sportscar and a stick shifter, blend them together and you have a rival for the MINI Countryman Cooper S (except it’s FWD... but that’s not the point).
The good news is that despite having all that power, it doesn’t cost as much as a MINI, because the Juke Nismo will arrive at British dealerships carrying a price tag of just £19,995. Sales start in January 2013, and there’s now way this hot crossover won’t make an impact.
Power for this car comes from a 1.6-litre direct injection turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine which produces 200PS at 6,000rpm and 250Nm of torque between 2,400rpm and 4,800rpm. In front-wheel drive, six-speed manual form, the Juke Nismo is capable of accelerating from 0-62mph in just 7.8 seconds and on to a top speed of 134 mph (215 km/h).
The car comes with a new aerodynamic kit, which features lower front and rear bumpers, wider wings and sill side skirts, and a modified grille and tailgate spoiler, helps to reduce front and rear lift without increasing drag. Nissan says that despite gaining 20PS, fuel consumption remains the same as the regualr 1.6 DIG-T.
