Nissan Recalls Over 120,000 2013 Altimas For... Spare Tire Inflation Issue

Japanese automaker Nissan has issued a recall for 123,308 units of the 2013 Nissan Altima because of... over or under inflated spare tires.

As weird as that may sound, Nissan North America says that a batch of cars manufactured from March 21, 2012, through March 26, 2013, might have been sold with spare tires that are significantly over or under inflated that may fail without warning, increasing the risk of a crash.

The recall is expected to begin May 3, 2013, when dealers will inspect and adjust the spare tire pressure, as necessary, free of charge. However, this is probably an issue that the owners could check for themselves without paying their dealers a visit.

The Nissan Altima was subjected to another recall last month, when the company announced that the front passenger airbag may not deploy in an accident. The recall included the Sentra, Pathfinder, Leaf and Infiniti JX35 as well.
