Nissan Qashqai and Navara Receive 2010 Fleet News Awards

Nissan has received two trophies at the UK 2010 Fleet News Awards ceremony, with the Qashqai and the Navara being named the best vehicles in their classes.

During a ceremony held earlier today at the Royal Automobile Club, the Qashqai won the Award for Best Crossover, being praised for its innovative design and growing popularity, while the Navara took the award in the Pick-up category.

When almost every other manufacturer talks about having a ‘Qashqai rival’, it’s apparent that Nissan’s crossover has defined an entirely new market, selling in strong numbers to fleets and delivering the perfect combination of SUV looks and hatchback running costs,” said Chairman of the 2010 Fleet World Honours Judges Steve Moody.

Navara has succeeded in ousting the Mitsubishi L200 this year. Despite the L200’s more radical looks, the Navara takes the award this year thanks to the latest raft of improvements. King and double-cab versions and a host of options help to make the Navara range one of the most comprehensive,” said John Kendall, Fleet World Editor.

"Yet more recognition from the experts on two of our hardest working models in the fleet sector. We’re delighted to receive these awards for both the Qashqai and Navara, which validate Nissan’s position as a top-class fleet provider in two very different new model sectors,” said Paul Willcox, Nissan UK Managing Director.

The two awards are a recognition of the fact that Nissan has strengthened its presence in the fleet sector, which is currently following a recovery trend.
