Nissan Patrol Drifting Is Brutal

Drifting on dry tarmac and a Nissan Patrol don’t quite mix... unless you’re in the Middle East, in which case the combination makes perfect sense. To illustrate our point, we’ve brought along a video that shows a custom Patrol in serious sideways action.
The footage was captured during the Middle East Motor Tuning Show last week, with the Patrol being converted to rear-wheel drive. The vehicle is shown while performing various slides and burnouts.

The driver doesn’t seem to have gone past the mediocre skill area, so while he does have some control over the car, he seems to lose this each time things get a bit more complicated.

From what we can tell by watching the clip, this seems to be a short-wheelbase Patrol that has been elongated. Despite the fact that the broader wheelbase helps with the drifting part, the vehicle’s handling seems to be a bit tricky - it appears as though the car isn’t all that eager to be held in the “opposite lock sliding” balance required for drifting.
