Nissan and Infiniti made their move in Japan and introduced the updated 2015 Fuga sedan along with a set of pictures and some technical specs in order to round off the information package.
What North Americans and Europeans knew as the Infiniti M (which more recently became the 2015 Infiniti Q70 sedan) is being sold in Japan under the Fuga Moniker, Nissan’s current flagship vehicle there after Nissan Cima and Nissan President production was axed in August 2010.

As a bonus, the name of the vehicle is the Italian word for the fugue, a composition musical form. This choice was made to suggest that the Cedric, Gloria, Cima and President legacies are being combined into a new vehicle. Gotta love that Japanese thoroughness, no doubt about it.

Anyway, back to the 2015 Nissan Fuga, which took after the recently revised Infiniti Q70 and is now displaying a new new front fascia coupled with a revised grille. Throw the LED headlights, LED daytime running lights and LED taillights in the mix and you get a refreshed premium sedan.

In addition, Fuga also received some extra chrome trim and turn signals integrated into the restyled side mirrors as well as brand new 18-inch aluminum wheels and a discretely redesigned rear bumper.

There isn’t much to say about the interior, which remains pretty much untouched by this facelift, except for the revised glove box and improvements brought to the rear seat.

Fuga will draw its strength from either a 2.5-liter V6 engine delivering 225 HP and 258 Nm (190 lb-ft) of torque or, if it has to satisfy more exigent tastes, a 3.7-liter V6 engine packing 333 HP and 363 Nm (267 lb-ft) of torque.

For those interested in owning a premium hybrid, Fuga will also offer a hybridized 3.5-liter V6 capable of providing a combined maximum output of 364 HP. And since we’re talking numbers, Fuga’s prices for the Japanese market start from ¥4,104,000 (the equivalent of $34,496).
