Black Friday deals can’t get better than this for Leaf buyers in Atlanta, as Nissan is rolling in its own holiday special deal - free public charging for two years.
The “No Charge to Charge” for Atlanta program offers no-cost access to over a dozen quick charging units scattered around the Greater Atlanta market for each newly bought Leaf EV. Each public quick charger can take the car’s battery from 0 to 80 percent charged in less than 30 minutes.

Nissan now offers the free charging service in 13 top Leaf markets, including San Francisco, Sacramento, San Diego, Seattle, Portland, Oregon, Nashville, Phoenix, Dallas, Ft. Worth, Houston, Washington, Los Angeles and Chicago. Atlanta is currently the leading market for the Leaf in the US and the company wants to offer free charging in 12 additional cities by mid-2015.

Atlanta is America’s biggest market for LEAF, and access to free public charging can enhance the convenience of driving an electric car and motivate additional consumers to make the switch to Nissan LEAF,” said Brendan Jones, director, Nissan Electric Vehicle Sales and Infrastructure. “As the top-selling electric car brand, Nissan is actively working with key partners to ramp up charging infrastructure in Metro Atlanta to make more charging options available for the thousands of area LEAF owners.”

The “Leaf” forward

The Nissan Leaf is currently the world’s best-selling electric car, scoring global sale numbers of over 147,000 units an more than 66,000 in the US, thanks to its decent mileage, accessibility, simplicity and versatility, offering seating for five passengers and an EPA-estimated range of 84 miles on a fully charged battery.

In Georgia, the Nissan Leaf can be had for about $17,000 after maximum available federal and state tax credits have applied. The entry level version comes with a 24 kWh lithium-ion battery pack that powers a 107 hp/187 lb-ft electric motor at the front, 16-inch steel wheels, halogen headlights, a flat aerodynamic underbody and rear diffuser, Nissan’s Intelligent Key with push start button, Bluetooth connectivity, cruise control, rearview camera, heated front and rear seats, heated leather-wrapped steering wheel and more.
