As more than 600,000 people travel by taxi every day in New York, classic Ford Crown Victoria Taxis are not able to serve everyone, like the people with disabilities for example.
We know from last year that Nissan will service Big Apple’s taxi system with their new NV200 starting service this fall. Working in conjunction with BraunAbility, Nissan made a version that accommodates people with disabilities, to enhance their new-generation taxi fleet.

The Nissan NV200 Mobility Taxi comes in aid with a manual fold-flat ramp and a restraining system, to facilitate wheelchairs to climb and be secure restrained while driving around. The taxi also features sliding doors, room for four passengers and their luggage, independently controlled air conditioning, mobile phone charging station and a flat floor.

In addition to the mobility aspect, Nissan announced that it will make both fully electric and hybrid versions for the NV200 Taxi.
