Japanese automakers only offer a fraction of their JDM cars overseas. That's probably because while in the US or Europe they have to be affordable, back at home they can play the premium game as well. This explains why Lexus and Infiniti vehicles are sold as Toyotas or Nissans at home.
In today's news that isn't really news, we have something special from Japan. The new Note subcompact (Versa Note in the US) is offered back home with a variety of different body kits, this being one of them.

It's called the Note Rider Autech, and we think it's a tuning package offered offered officially through dealerships, Autech Inc. being a well known Nissan tuner established in 1986.

The Note Rider has a new front bumper and a new chrome grille with no Nissan logo. It also sports side skirts, new 15-inch aluminum wheels with 185/65R15 88S and a rear skirt with a new muffler. The "Brilliant White Pearl" paint is also new as is the piano black dash trim on this car.

This is just some of the stuff you don't get on the $14,000 Note in America, and it's kind of a shame.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
