Smaller engines with forced induction is one way to go if you want more economy without compromising performance. The fourth-generation Nissan Micra, or March as it's known in Asian markets, didn't need more economy, but it did need more power.
So a couple of years ago, they introduced the DIG-S version of the 1.2-liter three-cylinder engine. Instead of 80 PS, this had 100 PS but also deliver some amazing economy and emissions.
We've already seen the facelifted Nissan March, since it was revealed in Thailand. However, the car sold in China will also get an update, as auto.soho.com reports. According to them, the "March 1.2S" will debut next month at the Shanghai Auto Show. The supercharged 1.2-liter it offers will come either as an alternative or a replacement for the current 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine and will be available with a 5-speed manual or a more efficient CVT.
We still don't know if the new-look supermini will be offered or the old car, but spy photos point toward the latter.
