Nissan Leaf Reversing World Record Successfully Achieved at Goodwood

After having previously reported that Terry Grant was going to take the Nissan Leaf backwards over the the distance of 1.6 km (1 mile), driven around the Goodwood hillclimb course. Well, earlier this weekend, the feat was completed successfully and now both Terry and the Leaf are Guiness World Record holders.
The run took just 1 minute and 57 seconds (not 2:03), and despite the fact that the Goodwood Hill road measures 1.856 km (1.16 miles), Terry drove the car all the way to the end, even after the mile-marker had been passed and the record was already secure.

The whole idea behind this run has honestly been a stroke of genius from Nissan, who, without modifying the car, managed to make a run of the mill and rather dull EV, a central event of the Festival of Speed, and it succeeded in making the Leaf that little bit cooler in the process.
