Nissan Leaf, Pace Car of the BolderBOULDER

Undoubtedly, this week would go down in history as one of the most successful for the Leaf electric vehicle. Not as important as the weeks during which the car was named the vehicle of the year in Europe and the world, this week will be remembered as the week during which the vehicle became the first EV in history to receive a five star rating from the Euro NCAP.

But, as with any other important moment in the life of everything on this Earth, these glorious moments will pass too, meaning that, in order to keep the product in the public mind, Nissan will have to continue its efforts to make it known.

As soon as news of the events in Europe reached the US, the Japanese automaker announced that the Leaf will be the official pace car of the BolderBOULDER running event on Memorial Day. The moment is part of the Nissan campaign meant to link the Leaf with running and cycling events across the US, Innovation for Endurance.

"The Innovation for Endurance program is one we're particularly excited for. Not only does it allow Nissan to directly play a role in supporting local fitness events, we get to extend the reach even further through integrated online content," said Jon Brancheau, vice president of Nissan's Marketing Division.

The BolderBOULDER 10-kilometer road run is perhaps one of the most entertaining ways to run ever envisioned. On the entire course of the circuit, which runs through the streets of Boulder, Colorado, 30 different performers will be accompanying the runners with their songs. This year, the list of performers includes the Blues Brothers, Elvis, The Yes We Cans, and many others.
