Nissan Leaf Canadian Prices Announced

Having managed to survive the disaster that hit Japan on March 11, Nissan is now back to regular business, focusing, again, its efforts on launching its gamble of all times, the Nissan Leaf, on more markets.

After earlier on Tuesday the prices of the model for the French market were made public, across the ocean, in Canada, customers waiting to experience zero emission driving got the much-needed info as well.

On the local market, the Leaf will retail for a starting price of $38,395 CAD, with the customers from the Ontario and Quebec regions being able to shave $8,500 and $8,000, respectively, thanks to the government incentives in place there.

In Canada, as elsewhere around the world, two versions of the Leaf will be offered, the SV and SL, with an additional cold weather package being included in the price. The SL trim comes equipped, among others, with 16-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights, CARWINGS telematics monitoring system and trip computer, Nissan Navigation System, Bluetooth, auto-dimming rearview mirror and variable intermittent wipers.

The top of the range SL, which will sell for $39,995 CAD, will add on top of that several unique features, like the rearview monitor, fog lights, solar panel charger, Homelink transceiver and cargo cover.

In addition to the options already fitted as standard into the cars, Nissan is also offering a Quick Charge Port for the SL ($900 CAD).

The Leaf is currently on route to local dealerships, promising to become a serious contender on the market, especially because the Volt is yet to make an entrance there.
