Having made its debut at the State Fair of Texas, the Nissan Texas Titan is the newest addition to the lineup. Available in Texas as a nod to all things great about the Lone Star State, the Texas Titan package is available for the Titan and Titan XD.
Be it rear- or four-wheel-drive, the 2017 Nissan Titan Crew Cab with the Texas Titan package applies to half-ton models in SV and SL grades with the 5.6-liter Endurance V8 gasoline engine. In the case of the Titan XD, the appearance pack can be had on SV and SL trim levels with either the 5.6-liter Endurance gasoline-powered V8 or the 5.0-liter Cummins V8 turbo diesel.

Pricing isn’t available at the present moment, though. On the upside, the appearance package gives the Titan full-size pickup truck a different aura. This is made possible by “Texas Titan” exterior badging, chrome exhaust finishers, metallic-finish kick plates, chrome inner and outer grille, 20-inch chrome aluminum-alloy wheels, as well as “Texas Titan” floor mats.

"Titan XD was named 'Texas Truck of the Year' last fall by the Texas Auto Writers Association so it's fitting to acknowledge the Lone Star State with this special vehicle," said Fred Diaz, division vice president and general manager of Nissan’s North America Trucks and Light Commercial Vehicles division. "For native Texans like myself, the Texas Titan is the perfect representation of Texas attitude – big horsepower, big torque, huge capabilities."

Speaking of specifics, the Texas Titan with the Endurance V8 is connected to a 7-speed automatic transmission and churns out 390 horsepower and 394 lb-ft (534 Nm) of torque. At the other end of the spectrum, the Cummins V8 is rated at 310 horsepower and 555 lb-ft (752 Nm). As with every other model in the Titan lineup, Nissan North America offers a bumper-to-bumper warranty of 5 years or 100,000 miles, whichever of the two comes first.

If you prefer something else roughly the same size and just as capable, the 2017 Ram 1500 Lone Star Silver Edition is worth a look.
