Nissan is one of the brands selected by Lucas Film to be a part of the promotional campaign for the next Star Wars movie, Rogue One.
The latest motion picture of the beloved series will be in theaters this December. Nissan is one of the five globally-known brands that were selected to be a part of the campaign, which also includes Gillette, General Mills, Verizon, and Duracell.

Each of these brands will have a role in promoting the next movie of the Star Wars franchise, which follows the 2008 motion picture Star Wars: The Clone Wars.

Evidently, Nissan chose to showcase the Rogue model through this campaign. The model is a mid-size crossover that has received improvements in its U.S. specification for the 2016 model year. The Japanese automaker had implemented numerous changes to continue the model’s sales momentum.

Nissan offers the Rogue in both all-wheel-drive and front-wheel-drive configurations. The 2016 Nissan Rogue is offered with a 2.5-liter gasoline engine that is mated to a Xtronic CVT transmission.

Customers can benefit from a motion-activated power liftgate, as well as added active safety features, like Forward Emergency Braking, Blind Spot Warning, and much more.

The 2017 model year of the Rogue is expected to bring a few design changes, but this version of the SUV has not been revealed yet. Nissan's mid-size SUV could get a hybrid system borrowed from the 2017 Pathfinder, but the availability of that version in the USA has not been confirmed. Meanwhile, its Japanese brother, the X-Trail, is already on sale with a hybrid in the range.

Gareth Edwards is the director of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, and the movie will have Felicity Jones, Riz Ahmed, and Ben Mendelsohn as its front runners. According to its creators, the film will focus on a risky move made by the Rebellion that involves stealing the plans to the Death Star. The motion picture is currently in post-production.

Editor's note: Integrating a vehicle into the Star Wars franchise will be an interesting thing to see, as the action of the film takes place “in a galaxy far far away,” thus eliminating the possibility of product placement within the movie.
