According to the results released by the Euro NCAP, the Leaf achieved 89 percent in adult occupant protection, 83 percent in child occupant protection, 65 percent pedestrian protection and 84 percent safety assist. The model comes equipped, as standard, with airbags, Electronic Stability Control, seatbelt reminder system for the front seats and speed limitation device.
During the crash test, the battery was switched on to test the in-built safety measures of the electrical system, mostly of the automatic cut-off isolation in the event of an accident.
