1,400 Hp GT-R by Switzer Performance Does Quarter in Under 9 Seconds

In the world of drag racing, a ‘sub 10-second car’ is what everybody who still wants to keep things street-legal is aiming for. However, some people like to go even more extreme, and so Switzer performance has created the R1K-X ‘Red Katana’ Nissan GT-R, a monster which recently recorded a quarter-mile time of 8.97 seconds, crossing the timing gate at 163 mph (260.8 km/h).
It features extensive modifications which enable the 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged powerplant to put out a staggering 1,400 hp, when running on race fuel, and just over 1,000 hp when running on regular fuel. It does 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 2.2 seconds, and reaches 256 km/h (160 mph) in a mind-blowing 8.5 seconds - keep in mind that the car is perfectly road-legal and heavier than stock, as it features a custom interior by C2Design of Tampa, Florida.

At the end of the run, the timing marshal is simply amazed at just how quick the car actually was, with the most frequently used word being ‘unbelievable’, followed by some mild profanity.
