Racing through the forests of Germany, with three on either side of the track like in the video games, might sound like a good thing. But it’s not a good thing for the wildlife that’s trying to cross the track.
A reader of BridetoGantry has submitted a video of himself and his Nissan GT-R, lapping the famous Nurburgring track. While going 140 mph or about 225 km/h, the car suddenly crashes into an eagle, which hits the right side of the windshield.
The car is owned by somebody from Britain and as such is RHD, so the bird strike takes place just in front of Colin, our GT-R driver. He is struck by a bit of glass but nothing too dangerous.
The moral of the story is that anything can happen on a track, especially if it’s surrounded by forests. Birds, rabbits and even deer can result in a nasty surprise and a potentially dangerous crash!
