Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3 Goes Racing

We first saw the Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3 earlier this year, when the racing version of Godzilla made its track debut at the Dubai 24-hour endurance race.
But now we can show you something even better than some simple press photos: the actual race car in action in a promo video released today by JRM Racing. The car you see here is undergoing a shakedown ahead of a long racing season which will also see it compete in the Japanese Super GT series for the first time.

Most of us know the GT-R for its complicated AWD system, but this GT3 racer sends its power to the back. And speaking of power, the Nismo GT-R comes with a 3.8-liter V6 developing 523 hp, and mated to a semi-automatic paddle-shift gearbox. It sounds like a brutal machine and it’s sure to keep the Nissan fans happy in 2012.

He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
