The latest Nismo GT-Rs are like no other Nissans before them, since they make use of special materials for sweeter lap times and thus come with the kind of price that totally removes the performance bargain label that used to define Godzilla. For instance, a 2019 GT-R Nismo like the one we have here came with a starting price of $175,540. Then again, this makes for around half the financial side of a Ferrari 488 Pista. So what if the two are thrown at each other in a drag race?
While the question above might seemed to have come out of the blue, or the Rosso Corsa, for that matter, you should know such an adventure has already taken place.

As you'll be able to notice in the pieces of footage at the bottom of the page, a Pista and a Nismo duked it out on the street.

Now, the YouTube video offers a rolling start perspective on the matter (you'll find this at the 10:24 point of the clip, with the action before involving the Fezza drag racing a McLaren 720S), but there's also an Instagram clip below. The latter portrays what happens when the two engage in a standing start brawl and the R35 gets to make use of its all-paw hardware.

Interestingly, while I have no clue towards this Nissan being modded, I can't say the same about the Pista. To be more precise, the Prancing Horse's twin-turbo 3.9-liter V8 has been gifted with a Gintani exhaust and ECU remap, with the combo probably delivering too many pops and crackles for many aficionados' taste.

So we're probably talking about 600 horsepower against... the Pista makes 720 ponies in factory trim. And a world where the Ferrari is not considerably lighter than the Nissan hasn't been invented yet.

"What's the point of such shenanigans?" I hear you asking. And the asnwer is simple: the giggles. It's just that such velocity adventures should be kept for the drag strip.
