The Nissan GT-R has been with us for over a decade now, which means this is one of the favorite children of the drag racing world. And despite the Hellcat having landed for the 2015 model year, there are plenty of mods available for the Mopar machine.
And while the two could hardly be more different when it comes to their specs and the way they deliver their performance, they're not that far apart regarding drag racing, especially when aftermarket goodies are involved.
Well, we are now here to bring you a sprinting battle between a modded Nissan GT-R and a Dodge Challenger Hellcat that has also been taken down the tuning path.
Note that these go-fast 2+2 machines (we simply felt the need to point out this similarity between the Japanese supercar and the muscle car) only feature light touches.
For instance, as the owner of the HEMI machine explains in the piece of footage at the bottom of the page, the 6.2-liter V8 under the hood has been gifted with a Diablo tune. As for what the ECU play does for the supercharged engine, this is said to add between 30 and 40 horsepower at the wheels.
Note that we're dealing with a six-speed manual incarnation of the Hellcat here. which means the driver needs to be on top of his game through the race.
Speaking of which, you should know the battle that brought us here unfortunately took place on the street.
The aficionados battled turning to the usual rolling start, but the Hellcat still had issues when it came to finding traction. Then again, the wielder of the R35 also claims to have experienced some trouble, even though it might all be a good old racer's excuse.
Those of you who happen to be in a hurry should know that the sprinting battle can be found at the 1:40 point of the clip. As for the final part of the clip, you'll get to find... fitness motivation here, so if you happen to find that interesting, you might as well check it out.
