Nissan GT-R Convertible Rendered, Needs a Fixed Roof

Thankfully, the image we have here is a mere rendering, so nobody took the roof off a Nissan GT-R. "What would you have against such a contraption, are you a purist?" I hear you asking. Well, while I don't identify with the said camp, the idea of a drop-top R35 is plain wrong.
For one thing, have you ever wondered why so many Nissan GT-R owners tune the hell out of their cars? Sure, some of them are looking for all-out performance and would probably tune a Koenigsegg if they had one. But there's certainly another reason behind the aftermarket trend we're talking about: the Japanese machine is only fun to drive when taken to the limit.

In standard, daily driving conditions, the experience delivered by the GT-R is unremarkable by go-fast machine standards.

So what's the point in chopping up such a car? That would only make it heavier (the Nissan halo car is not exactly scale-friendly to begin with) and affect the rigidity.

Of course, this hasn't stopped the aftermarket side of the industry from turning the idea of a Nissan GT-R into cold, hard metal.

Back in 2014, Newport Convertible Engineering, a shop based in California, stayed true to its name and delivered a GT-R Cabrio.

A customer from Abu Dhabi was reportedly the one who commissioned the build. And while the sun is pretty aggressive in that part of the world, the project might've had more of an attention magnet role, since GT-Rs are hugely popular in the area, so this one would be the Unicorn or something like that.

Returning to the rendering we have here, one might want to know why this was born. Well, since the R35 was presented back in 2007, the Internet has had the time to explore all forms of the machine, so this pixel play shouldn't come as a surprise.
