After winning the famed prize for “great ability combined with diligence, perseverance, and hard work” last December, Marcus Mariota has now partnered up with Nissan for their marketing campaign called the Heisman House. This implies a series of video vignettes, a traveling college campus/stadium tour and social media elements. It also involves a brand new Armada SUV the Japanese just gifted the sportsman.
Nissan is doing this because being competitive and successful always pays back. And because they like to promote their cars with the use of famed athletes, of course. Mariota was officially handled with his new ride yesterday, during an event held at Nissan North America’s HQ, about 15 miles south of the newly named Nissan Stadium.

As part of the Heisman House campaign, Mariota joins 13 other former previous winners, in a series of ventures set to air throughout the upcoming college football season. The first featuring the 21-year-old footballer are scheduled to air beginning Thursday, September 3rd.

Apart from the marketing stuff, the Heisman House campaign also offer the opportunity for fans to vote online for their favorite Trophy candidates, in the same way Mariota was chosen last year. In 2014, Nissan’s official crowed-sourced vote, with more than 400,000 participants, went to Mariota.

According to the automaker’s press release you can consult below, Nissan’s collaboration with the Heisman Trophy Trust began in 2006. In the company’s role as a premier partner, the Japanese support the Trust’s charitable activities and mission of service to our youth, especially those disadvantaged or afflicted. In other words, it’s not just fun fun time, they are also trying to make the world a better place. Good for them!
