Nissan Elgrand Minivan Gets Awesome Makeover Inspired by Char's Zaku Gundam

Okay, I will admit that there's a 99% chance nobody knows what this story is about. The minivan is JDM-only, the makeover is inspired by old cartoons, and the result is unfathomable. But that just makes a good story in my book.

While America has a never-ending barrage of Ben 10 and Adventure Town cartoons, Japanese children grew up watching a series called Gundam. It's about giant fighting "armored suits" with plasma guns and laser swords. How else do you explain that they're all obsessed with building actual robots?

Gundam is by far the most popular, but it's not just one series, as multiple universes are depicted. Char's MS-06S Zaku might seem a little familiar to autoevolution's readers, since Toyota has recently launched a special edition based on the Auris.

But this Nissan Elgrand is custom-made and doesn't come with the manufacturer's seal of approval. And how would it? All the windows have been blocked off to make the minivan look tougher. While that might look cool, the driver's outward vision has been severely restricted. A red custom wrap and fake rivets complete the look. They've even gone as far as to mount a gun and a Char mannequin on the top. He looks like a Power Ranger from the 1900s with his white helmet and gloves.

Zakus, the mainstay of the Zeon military, are like the Soviet tanks of the Gundam world, durable, easy to manufacture and adaptable. The Zaku II was also a common aggressor unit used during training by Earth Federation Forces pilots. The vast array of armaments also included the H&L-SB25K/280mmA-P Zaku Bazooka, which you can see stored on the back of the Nissan, just where it belongs.

We don't know how much this transformation costs, but the owner must be the most badass Zaku fan on the planet. You see those two models at the front? Not only are they extremely rare but they cost about $2,000 a piece.
