Nissan Announced the 2009 GT-R

As we announced last month, Nissan is getting ready to make some improvements to their GT-R super car. Now they have made them official and we are pleased to tell you that the 5 horsepower increase is on the list.

Other changes include the tires fitted on the new model are the same tires that made Porsche cry when the mighty Japanese car did a 7:29 on the Nurburgring. These are called Dunlop SP Sport 600 DSST, developed especially for the GT-R and give the car more grip and are a bit more durable than the other standard tires. In this manner, they made little tweaks to the suspension settings to match the tyre change.

Other change include the addition of new rims called “Gun Metal grey coloured Rays seven-spoke alloy wheels” for the standard Premium Edition GT-Rs, while the Black Edition will have the same wheels but a bit blacker. There is also a new paint called “Storm” that replaces the old pearl white and that is a good thing.

Prices have increased as the stock car now costs £56,795, the premium is £1300 more expensive and the black series requires an £1300 increase over the premium one. All in all the prices were raised by 3.8%.

Nissan has sold 2500 cars in this year in Europe and about 1200 are due to be delivered in the UK, while deliveries for the new will begin in April.
