Nissan 370Z to Feature 332 hp Engine, 7-Speed

Nissan 370Z is surely one of the most popular models even before its official launch date, with images of the new car published on the web several weeks ago. More importantly, rumors surrounding the upcoming model revealed more or less powerful engines combined with 5- or 6-speed transmissions. It seems like some of these details were only pure speculation so far, according to a photo published on the official LA Auto Show website.

First of all, the new Nissan will be powered by a 3.7-liter DOHC V6 engine with 26 more horsepower than its predecessor, now rated at 332 hp. The car will feature a 7-speed automatic transmission plus “the world's first synchronized downshit rev matching system for the 6-speed manual transmission”.

And since we were talking about the engine, it's worth mentioning that it's almost the same as the one installed on Infiniti G37, but obviously with increased power (model year 2009 G37 Coupe unleashes a maximum power of 330 hp).

Apart from all of these, Nissan 370Z has several redesigned components, including a lighter body and a shorter wheelbase, especially modified to improve engine performance.

Nearly every piece and component of the 370Z has been rethought or redesigned,” the text attached to the photo published on the LA Auto Show website reads.

New details concerning Nissan 370Z are likely to be revealed next week at the Los Angeles Auto Show held from November 21 through November 30.
