Nissan 370Z Roadster Arrives in the UK, Starts at £29,900

The British division of Japanese manufacturer Nissan announced yesterday the introduction of the right-hand drive market of the new Nissan 370 Roadster. The news is a bit surprising, as the carmaker was announcing back in September 2009 that the new car will not be able to hit British roads until at least March this year.

The 370Z Roadster wears a price tag of £29,900, while the GT version can reach £36,150 (with Sat Nav included). Nissan is offering a limited number of additional options for the Roadster, starting with the Connect Premium system borrowed from the GT-R.

Connect Premium comes with a price tag of £1,500 and brings 40GB HDD, advanced Satellite Navigation, dashboard mounted screen (with a four times higher resolution than on the previous version), touch screen display, DVD functionality, iPod USB and 10GB storage for music files imported from a CD.

The Roadster comes to the UK equipped with the fourth-generation VQ series 3.7-liter V6 engine, which develops 332 horsepower at 7,000 rpm and 270 lb.-ft of torque at 5,200 rpm. The engine will be paired with an electronically-controlled 7-speed automatic transmission or a close-ratio 6-speed manual.

"The UK might not be experiencing perfect convertible weather right now, but having the 370Z Roadster on sale in Britain in time for spring is great news for performance car fans. There’s nothing like hearing the Z’s roar up close with the hood down,” Paul Willcox, Nissan UK managing director said in a release.
