Nissan is also throwing an European birthday party for the Z’s 40th anniversary, after the Japanese and Americans had their celebrations. Starting from April, the European market will see the introduction of a limited Black Edition for the Nissan 370 Z.
The Euro-spec 370Z Black Edition will only come as a true sports car should, in the coupe incarnation. As you might have guessed, only 370 units will be produced. Future owners can choose from two metallic shades: black and quartz, both of which feature Nissan’s self healing Scratch Shield technology.
The standard Z’s appearance will be discreetly enhanced by a bespoke rear badge, dark grey 19-inch forged RAYS rims and red brake calipers.
Passengers are treated with red leather and suede, embossed 40th Anniversary logos on the seats, Nissan’s touch-screens satnav system, USB connectivity for the audio system. The drivers gets a leather wrapped steering wheel with red stitching which is also used for the center cluster, center console and knee pads.
Power comes from the Z’s “usual” 3.7 liter V6 engine. So the Black gets 328 PS which help it deal with the first hundred in 5.3 seconds (5.6 seconds if it comes equipped with the 7-speed automatic gearbox) and push the car up to a limited top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph).
For the UK market, the 370Z Black Editions has a starting price of 33,645 pounds equipped with the 6-speed manual and 33,045 pounds for the 7 speed automatic model.
