Nicolas Prost Signs Deal with Gravity

Gravity Sports Management has taken a new driver under its wings, namely the son on quadruple Formula 1 champion Alain Prost, Nicolas.

Earlier this week, it has been reported (not confirmed though) that Prost is in the running for a reserve driver role with the Lotus-backed Renault GP team. Now it appears that the Frenchman will indeed drive the Renault F1 car this season, but only in demonstration events, while continuing his commitments in sports car racing.

For the 2010 season, the 29-year old is already bound to race with Rebellion Racing in the Intercontinental Le Mans Cup and Le Mans Series. However, talking about the future, Prost did not dismiss the idea of maybe trying an F1 entry in the years to come. Signing a management deal with Gravity sure helps, as the former boss of the company, Eric Boullier, is now team manager for Lotus Renault GP.

I'm thrilled to have signed up with Gravity Sports Management,” said Prost. “I have a busy year ahead and the pace is already hotting up for the start of the ILMC season out here in Sebring. Our pace looked good during the test at Paul Ricard so we'll really hope to make the most of that this weekend.

I'm also looking forward to the chance to drive the Lotus Renault F1 car during the year. It will be great to get another taste for the very latest top-of-the-range machinery, after the run I did with [the] Renault F1 team in Magny Cours last year. After all, it's fair to say I have Formula 1 in my blood!

The entire pack of drivers that are currently reserves for Lotus Renault, with the exception of Malaysia's Fairuz Fauzy, are being managed by Gravity. The owner of the firm is none other that Gerard Lopez, the man who controls Lotus Renault GP.
