Nico Rosberg Explains Strange F1 Driving Position

In this video, Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 team driver Nico Rosberg explains the awkward seating positing he has to adopt in order to get the balance between comfort and supportiveness from his F1 ‘seat’.
As he explains it, we can see that most of his body sits below the line where his feet are. This makes it very difficult to see out and he sometimes has to extend out his neck in some corners, to get a better perspective of his surroundings. He also shows us that the position itself is very reclined, with his legs quite high - he says it’s a comfortable position, but it sure doesn’t look like it, and who could imagine driving like that, anyway?

I wonder if we’ll ever live to see the days when F1 cars’ aerodynamics will improve so much that the driver will be required to lie face-down somewhere inside the car?
