Nico Hulkenberg, who is currently a reserve for Aston Martin’s Formula 1 Team, might not be on the track with his team officially, but in real life, he gets to drive one, an Aston Martin Vantage Roadster.
Nico Hulkenberg’s career included winning the 24 Hours of Le Mans on his first attempt and becoming a Formula One driver. He drove for Williams, Force India, Sauber, Renault, and Racing Point. He remained with the latter, which now races as Aston Martin, as a reserve driver, taking Sebastian Vettel’s seat twice so far this season.
But while he’s not on track out there at every race, he still gets the same star treatment from the team. And, in real life, he gets to drive a car from the British manufacturer.
In a new post shared on his Instagram account, Nico Hulkenberg posed in front of an Aston Martin Vantage V8 Roadster, the picture being shot through fire. He captioned it: “my definition of romance.”
The model he drove was a satin black convertible, which was introduced by Aston Martin in 2020. It comes with the same AMG-sourced V8 engine as the coupe version (released a couple of years earlier), which develops 503 horsepower (510 ps) at 6,000 rpm and a torque of 505 lb-ft (685 Nm) between 2,000 and 5,000 revs to the rear wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission.
The Vantage Roadster is able to rocket to 62 mph (100 kph) in 3.8 seconds and reach a top speed of 190 mph (306 kph). The convertible can fold down its roof in only 13.5 seconds, and it can be operated at speeds up to 31 mph (50 kpm).
Besides the Aston Martin Vantage V8 Roadster, Nico Hulkenberg was previously seen driving a Renault Megane R.S. and a Porsche 911 in his day-to-day life.
