Nico Hulkenberg Likely to Stay with Williams

A lot of unpleasant rumors are circling these days the Williams F1 paddock, as the team is getting ready for some better results in 2011. After rumor surrounding a possible departure of Rubens Barrichello surfaced earlier this week, now the talk of day regards the other driver, Nico Hulkenberg.

According to the GMM news agency, Hulkenberg is likely to stay with the team in the next season, as Frank Williams hinted that the driver might be seen with the team some more during the season to come.

"It was a little disappointing, maybe, in the first few races, perhaps because he was being over-cautious," admits Williams, pointing to the reasons which caused talk of departure. "But lately he has become very competitive and we have just seen the beginning of something exceptional."

The Williams drivers are feeling the pressure of Pastor Maldonado, a driver who is said to have already signed a pre-agreement with Williams for 2011. Now, because of what Frank Williams is saying about Hulkenberg (even if the team principal only said it's likely we'll see more of Hulkenberg, but never mentioned anything about Williams), sources point to Barrichello falling into the spotlight.

"He has enormous experience. He is now, without doubt, the most experienced driver in the pitlane and he does demonstrate that very frequently,"
said Williams about Barrichello, without actually saying anything.

"His technique is very understated, he's a very smooth driver. He likes to be mollycoddled emotionally a little bit, and he likes being told how good he is, but we don't have any problem in telling him, we believe strongly in him."
