Nicky Hayden to Attend 2011 Isle of Man TT

After Mick Doohan, another FIM Road Racing world champion will make a high-profile appearance in this year's Isle of Man TT, namely 2006 MotoGP champion Nicky Hayden.

The Ducati rider confirmed presence in the Mountain Course Centenary celebrations of this year's event, but his commitment to the 2011 Isle of Man TT will only refer to doing the Arai Parade Lap alongside 2010 TT champion Ian Hutchinson and five-time 500cc World Champion Mick Doohan on June 8, prior to the official start of the race.

I'm really looking forward to going to the Isle of Man,” said Hayden in a statement. “I've been to pretty much every kind of motorcycle race you can imagine - the Daytona 200, the Jerez MotoGP, the Anaheim Supercross, the Namur World Motocross. But I've never been to the Isle of Man or any other real street race. The TT is just one of those events that every race fan wants to see eventually.

In addition to getting to lap the Mountain Course for the first time in career, the Kentucky Kid is also scheduled to present the trophy for the Monster Energy Supersport Race 2. Hayden will then continue his busy week by heading to Silverstone, for the MotoGP round scheduled between June 10-12.

Last year it was Loris Capirossi who represented the MotoGP field in the IOMTT parade lap, and his comments on the true nature of this event need no further clarrifications.

Compared to what you guys do, I am really a girl,” he told the riders who were about to start off in the official competition. “You are the real men. I am 100% not thinking about ever going road racing,” he added, after lapping the Mountain Course in the parade lap.
