There's little cheers in Ducati MotoGP team's camp, especially as the second day of the first official pre-season tests in Sepang, Malaysia ended up in the same disappointing positioning.
Far from showing too much competitive brawn, at least when compared to the Repsol Honda and the Yamaha factory bikes, the 4 Ducati were only a tad faster today than they were the day before. While Hayden finished the first two test days in the same 10th position, his team mate Andrea Dovizioso made some progress and climbed from the 13th to the 11th place.

Referring to the first two days in Sepang, Hayden told MotoGP reporters: "Yesterday was two seconds off, today's a second and a half. It would be great if we could take another half a second out of it tomorrow but I don't know how easy that's going to be. It's still a bit frustrating to be so far away. Even further away than we ended last year, I guess."

Ducati admits that 2013 will be a building year, and no major changes have been made to the bikes. Instead, they plan to gather as much data from the 4 riders piloting identical machines so that the next season could bring serious modifications to the GP bikes.

Hayden added that the team still has some ideas which will be tested tomorrow, addressing the electronics, maneuverability and geometry set-up.
