Nick Mason's McLaren F1 GTR Shines

Nick Mason, who’s best known for his role as Pink Floyd’s drummer, loves cars just as much as he loves music and we’ve brought you a video that shows one fruit of his passion.
The adjacent clip shows us Mason’s McLaren F1 GTR, with the car being caught on camera during a recent charity event that saw famous British DJ Chris Evans raise funds for BBC Children in Need at Overton, Hampshire.

The GTR is the racing incarnation of the McLaren F1, a car so good that it managed to take the overall victory in the 1995 Le Mans race, beating prototypes that were purpose-built for racing, belonging to a superior tier.

Mason’s car also has racing history, as it has won the BPR Global GT Endurance Series in 1995, with Thomas Bscher and John Nielsen behind the wheel.
