It was a great evening for New England Patriots who managed to defeat the Indianapolis Colts in the AFC Championship game. But as opposed to what sportsmen normally would do after a victory, the team’s defensive tackle Vince Wilforck celebrated in a rather unique way: saving a woman injured in a car crash. Talk about giving back...
Wilfork is considered to be one of the premier defensive tackles in the NFL, and was named both to the Pro Bowl and the All-Pro team in 2007, 2009, 2010, 2011, and 2012.

The 33-year old NFL star was heading home from the Gillette Stadium with his wife when he saw a jeep roll over with a woman inside. When the troopers arrived, they were surprised to see there was already somebody there trying to help the person inside the car get out of the crashed Jeep Wrangler.

Trooper Kenneth Proulx stated that he held the passenger door of the vehicle open, and Vince Wilfork reached in and helped lift the operator out of the vehicle with one hand,” the Massachusetts State Police reports. After he made sure the car crash victim was out of any danger and that the officers didn’t need any further assistance, Wilfork departed.

Call it funny or just life, but it was later proven that the driver of the Jeep - 38-year old Mary Ellen Brooks - was in fact driving under the influence. She was subsequently placed under arrest by Trooper Michael Lokitis and was charged for DUI and negligent operation of a motor vehicle.

Well, at least she was left out of any injuries after the accident...
