Next VW Tiguan Will Get Cross-Coupe and XL-SUV Versions

Volkswagen has already reportedly started development work on the next generation of VW Tiguan. The crossover will surely be built around the new MQB modular platform, and the standard crossover will keep the current proportions largely unchanged, though small alterations in track might arrive.

However, the Tiguan pill soon become a family of vehicles, as the German automaker plans to launch three variants in total. Besides the base car, there will also be a cross-coupe version which focuses more on offering style. This will be aimed unashamedly at a younger audience.

According to Auto Motor und Sport, company insiders have also reportedly hinted at an extender-wheelbase versions, which will be almost five meters long and aimed at the American consumers. This will be a bit like offering a cheaper alternative to the Touareg, and it will offered with the rows of seats.
