The new Nismo GT-R sportscar will reportedly be the fastest Nissan-badged production car ever built. While this is not exactly breaking news, as we recall the Japanese automaker bragging about its next GT-R a while back, it seems the new iteration will pack at least 25 BHP more over the current one.
According to Top Gear, quoting a Nissan spokesman, the new GT-R Nismo will deliver “more than 570 BHP” and “will be of great value and offer the same concept as other Nismo products: more power, better handling and improved looks”. As expected, the new amount of power will enable the GT-R to surpass its current Nurburgring lap record, which stands at 7 minutes and 18 seconds.
While we’re really anxious to see what this new vehicle is all about, there’s still some waiting involved as the special GT-R Nismo, currently in a development phase, is scheduled to arrive in the second half of 2014. As we already told you yesterday, the GT-R won’t be the only high-performance Nismo product to be offered next year. A beefed up version of the Nissan Juke, called Juke Nismo RS, is also in the works, and word has it will have in excess of 215 HP under the hood.
