As you probably know already, Honda is preparing the next generation NSX in secret right now and just like the new Civic Type R revealed earlier today, they believe it will be a world-best, at least for the sportscar class. We're not talking strictly about fun, but about power and fuel efficiency.

A new NSX concept will be shown tomorrow at the Tokyo Motor Show, this time in white. However, the real magic has already been revealed at the R & D Center's center's Honda "R & D 2013 Honda Meetings" There, the a mockup of the drivetrain was show, and from it, everybody was able to deduce that every bit of the powertrain is now different.

The V6 is now mid-mounted and coupled to a new double-clutch (Honda calls it DCT) gearbox. The front axle is controlled by not one but two electric motors, one for each front wheel. Honda did not reveal how many many gears the DCT has yet, but some speculate it will be a 7-speed like the Acura RLX SH-AWD.

But the biggest news of the day is that the V6, previously believe to be just a 3.5-liter engine, is actually a twin-turbo, fitted with a dry sump and the obligatory VTEC intake management systems. Honda has never had a twin-turbo engine before, and now they are launching one of the most technologically advanced cars we've ever seen. You really have to give it up to these guys.
