General Motors has confirmed plans to launch the fourth-generation of its flagship SUV, the Cadillac Escalade, in spring 2014.
Rumored to be based on a modified version of the platform that underpins both the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra, the new Cadillac Escalade will be shown for the very first time this fall.
No actual details have been revealed, but the Escalade will likely receive the company’s new 6.2-liter EcoTec3 V8 engine. Also fitted in the aforementioned pickup trucks, the new mill delivers 425 HP and 450 lb-ft of torque, about 22 more HP than the current 6.2-liter Vortec V8.
The new vehicle will arrive with standard rear-wheel drive, while all-wheel will be available as an option. No word wether the fourth-generation Escalade will mark the return of a hybrid version.
