The blocky styling of the Chrysler 300 has always been its main selling point, as it never excelled at anything ohter than looking extremely mean and masculine. It was its styling which made it a big(-ish) success, even in Europe, where it’s acutally quite common.
However, modern times have caught up with Chrysler, and their design chief Ralph Gilles has announced that, after analyzing newer and more streamlined cars from other manufacturers, they have decided to give up the 300’s trademark styling, in search of better aerodynamics and all the benefits that come along with it. Gilles was quoted saying “the wind is starting to sculpt these vehicles [...] We'll have no choice but to be some of the most wind-swept vehicles that you've ever seen."

The smaller, less well-known Chrysler 200 which wasn’t that blocky to star with, will also get the aero treatment. After seeing the new Viper, a car also developed under the supervision of Ralph Gilles, we believe that with their next big car, Chrysler will finally, properly bring the fight to the German manufacturers.
