The next generation of Chevrolet Camaro will be more fun, more dynamic, more economical and more American as well. The muscle car is imported through Chevy dealers across Europe now, and people are starting to enjoy owning their big V8s, but soon they will also find out that it’s not really built in America, it’s Built in Canada, which doesn’t sound as cool.
But the next-gen model will move back to its roots, as GM has announced production will take place at Lansing Grand River (LGR) Assembly Plant in Lansing, Michigan. The Camaro will still be made in Oshawa for now and will be joined by two new models soon, the Cadillac XTS and the Chevrolet Impala.
The decision was made in order to "lower capital investment and improved production efficiencies". The new Camaro, likely a 2015 model year car, will be put together with some other rear-wheel drive cars, the Cadillac CTS and ATS.
