We have to admit it: the current BMW Z4 isn’t exactly a hit. The Bavarian carmaker is well aware of this and is planning to make some important changes for the new generation, which is set to arrive in 2015.
The Z4 will become sportier, moving away from the current cruiser identity. However, the changes won’t be extreme, as the carmaker doesn’t want to lose the current customers in its search for new ones.
The next Z4 will be modified both in terms of feeling and design direction, with BMW looking to introduce features that aim to be timeless, rather than cool for a limited amount of time. As for the tech side, the next Z4 will use BMW’s lightweight, downsized four-cylinder N20 units, which means that it will have a better handling.
