British automaker Bentley is reportedly planning a new high-performance Continental Supersports coupe with more than 650 bhp under the hood.
The new Supersports Continental will be more powerful than the 616 bhp Continental GT Speed version, but less less performant (it sounds weird, we know) than the incoming competition-purpose Continental GT3, expected to boast at least 675 bhp.
According to Autocar, the new Continental Supersports will show up sometime in 2014 "wearing" carbon fiber panels, stiffer suspension, and without rear seats in order to save as much weight as possible. The twin-turbo W12 engine will be enhanced to offer more than 650 bhp.
The first Bentley Continental Supersports was released back in 2009 with 6.0-liter W12 unit that developed 621 bhp. The 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) sprint took only 3.1 seconds, while top speed was rated at 204 mph (329 km/h).
