Newmar’s 2021 'Super Star' Motor Coach Is Fit for a Movie Star and Their Posse

Folks, what you see in the cover photo is not the interior of my living room. It’s actually the interior of a different type of home, a motor home. I, too, had to look closely to notice a steering wheel somewhere in the background. Do you know what I did next? Honestly, if you’re looking into buying something like this, make sure you take the time to really research the Super Star as its pricing starts at $349,812 USD. Had to put that USD in there just so you don’t get any wrong ideas.

Jeez, for that price, why not just but a normal home? Well, because this one allows you to change the view of your sunrise or sunset anytime you feel like it. Oh, and it does it in one of the most glamourous ways possible. It’s really the stuff of movies.

Before beginning the tour of amenities, here's a quick touch-up on the chassis and motor for this beast. That would be a 2021 Freightliner M-2 106 chassis and a massive Cummins L9 diesel engine, respectively. The latter produces 350 hp and a monumental 1,150 lb-ft (1,557 Nm) of torque at 1,400 RPM. That’s enough to tackle any flat hard surface while pulling along whatever party you’ve decided to throw in the back, thanks to a 20,000-lb (9072-kg) towing capacity. Now, there are two models of the Super Star you can choose from, the 37-ft'er (11.3 meters) or 40-ft'er (12.2 meters). In total, each offers four floorplans to choose from and a myriad of stock and optional systems, toys, or perks.

Here, just so you understand the level Newmar plays the game at, take the following layout as an example of how you can live in this home. The first thing you’ll notice is the full-size fridge that even includes a massive freezer drawer. A dual-basin sink with a full-size faucet, a three-burner stove, and a convection oven are basically standard. You can always opt for a dishwasher too.

The bathroom includes a full-size cabin shower as most European homes would, and even a washbasin with a real sink. None of that PVC stuff round these parts. There’s even an option for a two-piece washer and dryer unit. In addition, plenty of cabinet and storage space lines the inside; it seems you can store more goods and utensils than in your average home. There are even options as to where you can mount your flat screen.

Let’s take a look at some of the furnishing options we have available. Inside we can find readily available bunk beds, couches, a couple of Ottomans, dining seating, which can be transformed into a sleeping area just by removing the table, and what looks like a California Queen bed. That’s just my opinion, though, as the manufacturer just calls it a queen.
