If there is a place like Santa’s toy factory at the North Pole for adrenaline junkies, then that place is called New Zealand. At least that’s pretty much what some surfers believe, considering it’s one of the places where new adventures are constantly being invented. Chloe Phillips-Harris is one of the brainiacs that uses horse power to make wakeboarding better than ever. Sure, we all talk about horsepower when we see a car. And man, do we love the beasts that come with huge engine enhancements. But New Zealand is all about discovering new crazy ways of adventures. Why use a gas-powered boat that will make you look like a fancy housewife when you can always train a wild horse to pull the rope instead. As a professional horse trainer in Kawakawa, New Zealand, Chloe thought it would be quite interesting to train a wild Kaimanwa horse to gallop with a wakeboarder skimming along behind. She had her friend vet and horse rider herself Nikita Osborne along and now they've turned the feat into an actual sport. "This is what NZ girls do when we want to go wakeboarding"
Anyway, it turns out the new surfing-ish fun mode is already having some followers, so it’s only a matter of time until it becomes a recognized new sport. “This is what NZ girls do when we want to go wakeboarding but don’t have a boat, use your horse. This is me, my best friend Niki and her top level dressage horse all doing what we love. Can’t wait of summer, warm water and to get back into this again,” she told The New Zealand Herald.
