Using the subway on weekends can be a bit confusing, which is why New York City’s Metropolitan Transportation Authority has decided to lend us a hand by revealing a map that shows the subway just as it appears on the following weekend.
According to The New York Times, the map uses the retro layout of the 1970s Massimo Vignelli guide, an icon of NYC. Each weekend, the digital map will be customized to show the complex service modifications, which will solve the current issue of rerouted lines that are not extremely clearly written.
The map will use The Weekender designation and will be found on the homepage of the agency’s website from Friday afternoon until Monday morning and will be searchable by line, borough and station.
