The new Golf is a smash hit for Volkswagen, the German automaker having reportedly received no less than 100,000 orders in a very short amount of time. Right now, the car is available as a three-door and a five-door, only in regular engine configurations.
That includes a 1.2-liter TSI base model with 85 horsepower, a 140 PS 1.4-liter TSI and two diesels, the 105 PS 1.6 TDI and the bigger 2.0 TDI with 140 PS.
However, the family is set to grow once more, with more version to be launched this year. We've shown you renderings of this car before, but this is the very first time that the Golf VII Variant has been seen without any sort of camouflage.
The wagon version of the Golf is built on the same modular platform as its hatchback brothers. So presumably, it's got the same level of comfort, build quality and all-round Germaneness.
We found these photos on VW Wortex, and they apparently come from a test done by German website bild.de in Sweden, where the new Golf Variant is undergoing winter testing.
It will apparently be ready for production in August 2013 and will start at €16,975, presumably in Germany (prices will vary from country to country).
